The topic of sustainability affects every business area of VALO BioMedia.
Our main goal is to contribute to global health care through the production of SPF eggs used for vaccine manufacturing. When making strategic decisions, we consider the ESG (environment, social, governance) criteria. Our sustainability goals are embedded in our business strategy, and we track these goals using specific, defined measures.
Through our commitment, we contribute actively to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN’s 2030 Agenda. Five of these goals are particularly relevant for our business.
UN Sustainable Development Goals
At VALO BioMedia, we have a particular focus on the following five sustainability goals of the United Nations:
No poverty
By creating jobs and manufacturing our products, we make a key contribution to poverty reduction and health maintenance. After all, illness is a major trigger of poverty.
Zero hunger
With our products, we play a key role in helping to meet the global demand for safe, healthy food.
Good health and well-being
Our products aid in the development and production of vaccines and medicines that promote human and animal health. As such, we are able to ensure health and well-being for people of all ages.
Decent work and economic growth
We provide our employees with decent, humane working conditions, taking into account both human rights and planetary boundaries principles of managing resources. We play our part in the fight against poverty by creating jobs and promoting sustainable growth.
Responsible consumption and production
When manufacturing our products, we use efficient production methods which conserve resources. We conduct regular risk assessments, which allow us to identify social and ecological risks throughout our value chain.
